1. What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy is used to treat mental disorders. Often, therapy is backward looking as in it looks at past experiences, including traumas, to heal the client. Therapists are trained mental health professionals who have the ability to diagnose and treat mental disorders through various theories. Amy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, which means she holds a graduate degree in counseling and is currently earning her hours toward licensure under the supervision of Angela Caldwell, MFC 45163

Amy is also an awareness coach. Coaching differs from therapy in that it helps clients achieve goals and perform better in various parts of their lives. Coaching is traditionally forward-looking and doesn’t focus on past traumas but on moving forward and creating new experiences. Coaching is right for you if you want to learn more about yourself and get support in developing a plan of action that will help you reach your desired goal.
